The hypocrisy of the attention to men\u2019s sexual satisfaction vs. women\u2019s sexual consequences is ridiculously apparent. I hope for a time when \u201csex education\u201d and \u201cpro-choice\u201d aren\u2019t issues, but just part of education and life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This painting <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmortempost.wordpress.com\/2016\/05\/02\/artist-byron-taylor-causes-controversy-in-conservative-arkansas-with-offensive-painting\/amp\/?fbclid=IwAR0VggKEawkjOu2J8BcqXjhtwgVdok0LwOZ4kQoZ27pmTmffR7vpoj-C5MI\">raised a bit of controversy<\/a> which spilled over onto\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BTSculptor\/posts\/10153329903367610?comment_id=10153330268292610&amp;reply_comment_id=10153332819612610&amp;notif_t=feed_comment_reply&amp;notif_id=1459622498229386\">Facebook<\/a>\u00a0when I attempted to enter it into the ALA Spring Show. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arktimes.com\/ArkansasBlog\/archives\/2016\/04\/03\/theres-art-and-then-theres-art#more\">Arkansas Times<\/a>\u00a0did an online feature on it, and everything was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BTSculptor\/posts\/10153332516192610?comment_id=10153332547902610&amp;notif_t=feed_comment&amp;notif_id=1459708782698382\">resolved in the end.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since that episode, it has been brought to my attention that this could also represent the Luxury Tax on women\u2019s \u201csanitary items.\u201d Although that was not my initial idea, I welcome it as an interpretation.<\/p>\n<p>Update 6\/24\/2022: the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade today. This awareness is even more important now. The hypocrisy of the Far Right has become a concerning issue for the United States, as well as the rest of the world. We have to work against the dystopian future the GOP is working towards.
