Good Food – Legacy Grease

As long as I’ve been painting, I’ve occasionally attempted extremely intricate pieces -album covers like Santana’s “Abraxas” and Steppenwolf’s “At Your Birthday Party” come to mind. Here’s a scene from inside a burger joint on Beale Street – famous for using the same grease since 1912, hence the name. It will also be the first watercolor for me to do on one of the “elephant” sheets – 25″ x 40″, but the final size will be closer to 24″ x 36″.

The drawing took me two nights to refine(1/8-1/9) and all day Saturday 1/10 to transfer to the paper.
